Crosswind Elementary Library
Home of the Eagles Nest Library

Welcome
Welcome to Crosswind Elementary Library Webpage!  This is my second year at Crosswind.  My transition to this position as been an easy one because of my library assistant, Mrs. Ball.  Mrs. Ball has been in the Eagle's Nest over 21 years.  My passion for the students coupled with my love for sharing a good book makes my position a perfect fit.  Browse this website to find out the information you need to know about our Eagles Nest Library at Crosswind Elementary School.
Reading enables us all to soar to our highest level!

STAR Reading Assessment and Accelerated Reader
STAR Reading Assessment is a reading inventory technology tool used to assess students' reading proficiency.  Results are given in a range of reading levels from proficient reading to a challenging level for each student. These scores are used in the library to assist students with their book selections.
Accelerated Reader is a reading program that provides a comprehension quiz for readers in third through fifth grade.  There is a AR quiz for almost all titles published.  A good source for AR titles is http://www.arbookfind.com.  AR Home Connect portal allows you to log into students' accounts using the students log in information.  You can view quizzes taken and scores.

Collierville Schools Libraries Mission Statement
The libraries of Collierville Schools strive to foster and lead a culture of personalized learning for our students, empower educators through professional learning opportunities, and provide universal access to resources that effectively leverage learning.  We model safe and effective use of technology so students have opportunities to be active learners, creating and sharing content, not just consuming it.  Librarians work collaboratively to align, curate, create, and improve instructional materials, both print and digital, that are aligned to college and career ready standards and support the instructional programs of our schools and district.
