It is the goal of the parents, faculty, and staff of Crosswind Elementary to provide a safe learning environment for all students. Crosswind Elementary has developed and implemented a Crisis Management Plan to be used by the faculty and staff in the event of an emergency.
In the event of an emergency and to ensure the safety of every student, the parents and guardians are asked to follow these guidelines.
•Do not telephone the school. The phones will be needed to make calls to emergency, news, and support services.
•Parents are asked to follow the dismissal rules and guidelines that will be in place in the event of an emergency. Do not attempt to remove your child from their classroom. We must be able to account for each student and who they are released to in the event of an emergency. Each emergency situation is different and the dismissal procedures will vary. It is possible that your child will be evacuated to an offsite destination for parent pick up. Parents will be notified through the media, website, or sign postings at school.
• Students will only be permitted to leave with the parent or guardian listed on the Student Data Card. Parents may wish to update the information in our records.
•In the event of a non-critical event and school must be dismissed early, every effort will be made to notify the parents through the media.
