Crosswind Elementary Principal Announcement

Collierville Schools Director of Schools Dr. Russell Dyer has announced the appointment of Mrs. Toni Flynn as principal of Crosswind Elementary School. Mrs. Flynn currently serves as assistant principal at Schilling Farms Elementary School and will succeed Mrs. Kristie Murin, who has been named the district’s next Chief Academic Officer.
“I am pleased to announce Toni Flynn as the next principal of Crosswind Elementary School,” said Dr. Dyer. “Her experience, leadership, and commitment to student success make her an excellent fit for the Crosswind community. I look forward to the continued growth and success of the school under her leadership.”
Mrs. Flynn brings more than two decades of experience in education and a strong track record of instructional leadership and relationship-building. She has served as assistant principal at Schilling Farms Elementary School since the school’s founding in 2018, where she has supported students and staff in a variety of roles, including building testing coordinator, RTI² coordinator, and K–2 administrator. She has helped guide initiatives in assessment, data-driven instruction, and intervention supports, contributing to Schilling Farms being recognized as a Tennessee Reward School since the 2021–2022 school year.
Prior to moving into administration, Mrs. Flynn spent over a decade at Bailey Station Elementary as a third-grade teacher, where she served as a support team leader, chaired the school improvement planning process, and helped lead professional learning across the district. She also taught at Chimneyrock Elementary School, Northaven Elementary School, and in Sumner County Schools, building a strong foundation in early childhood and elementary education. Over the course of her career, she has earned numerous recognitions, including a Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and multiple Teacher of the Year honors.
Mrs. Flynn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Memphis State University, a Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University, and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Memphis. She and her husband, Todd, reside in Piperton and are proud that their son, Christian, is a product of the Collierville Schools system. She will officially assume her role as principal of Crosswind Elementary School on July 1.
“I am excited for the opportunity to lead Crosswind Elementary and to continue building a culture where students, staff, and families feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed,” said Flynn. “Every Eagle, Every Day, Every Opportunity—together we will soar.”
